Get to Know Dr. Rob Kerns
Originating from Pennsylvania, Dr. Kerns has close to a decade of experience in dentistry under his belt. For him, the best part of his job is seeing a nervous or anxious child leave our office excited about their next visit. He loves being able to transform the dental experience from something scary into something fun and positive, and knowing that he’s helping to build a foundation of good oral health habits for their future. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Kerns decided in college that he wanted to be a dentist. Initially, he was going to be a veterinarian, but after shadowing in a clinic, he discovered that he felt it was quite morbid and sad. He then wanted to find a healthcare career that was more positive and creative, and pediatric dentistry was the field that stuck with him the most.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Kerns studied at St. John’s University in Queens for his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He later attended Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where he obtained his dental doctorate, graduating on the Dean’s List. He later completed his Pediatrics Residency at NYU Langone in Brooklyn, receiving the Outstanding Service as a Resident Award. He is also certified in PALS, ACLS, BLS, CPR, and BOTOX through continuing education, and is board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He also holds membership in a few organizations, such as the:

- Pennsylvania Dental Association
- American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Whenever he isn’t at the office, Dr. Kerns spends a lot of time with his parents, family, and friends. He and his fiancée love traveling and exploring new cities together, and they’re getting married in June 2026! He also likes playing Wordle, Strands, Connections, and other NYT Games every day. He enjoys horror movies, reality TV, and anything on Bravo. One fun fact about him: Dr. Kerns was in a pie-eating contest at the Hard Rock Café in NYC when he was a kid, and his opponent was the actor who played the voice of SpongeBob! Funny enough, Dr. Kerns didn’t win.
